The McAtee Family

I had the opportunity to photograph this family a few years ago and again a few weeks ago.  They are such a fun, sweet family, and (just like last time) I felt right at home in their home and backyard.  I love when people tell me about their interests and their ideas for photos.  Their son loves building bunkers and pretending he's in the Army.  I loved that, after much prodding by his mother, he put his grandpa's Army jacket on, especially because his grandparents were my grandparent's neighbors all of my growing-up years.  I also love when I can finally get a kid who adamantly is against getting his pictures taken, not only willing to smile, but forgetting I'm there and just being himself!

The Bukowski Family

I spent a Friday evening with all of these lovely people.  They are such a loving, sweet family and I was honored to be "a fly on the wall" in their lives as they giggled, talked, picnicked, and fished with one another.  A special thank you to their oldest son, Michael, as he is currently serving our country in the Marines.  I know his family misses him terribly and it was so special to be a part of his two week vacation home.

Cyndi

I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph this beautiful girl.  She is so, so sweet and really fun to work with.  I had her climbing through car windows and running in open fields...even in the rain!  It is always a pleasure to be allowed into people's lives for an hour or two.  A premature congratulations to you Cyndi!  I know you will do amazing things in life!

From Italy to Indiana...

A little re-cap of some recent sessions
Enjoy and please let me know how I can help you!

Tutu

My girl might be growing up, but she still likes to wear a tutu. Keziah is one of a kind. Not only is she creative and funny, but she also keeps me in line, always reminding me to grab my keys before I walk out the door or to call and make a Dr. appointment I had forgotten to make. Today she reminded me to leave all my money at home as we were heading downtown and she remembered my wallet was stolen the last time. What would I do without her? I think these photos sum up the perfect mix of little girl and grown up that resides in my seven year-old beauty.

Finding Gold

Sometimes friends come into your world, out of nowhere, and you feel like you have known each other for years. Living overseas can be a lonely life. Getting used to having a small friendship base goes with the territory. So when someone who is your same age, shares your same passions, laughs at the same jokes, and listened to Brandy in the early 90's, comes into your world...well, it's like finding gold in your backyard. Janelle and I may have driven our husbands crazy with all of our "girls night out" festivities, but I think they understood that we were squeezing what, in our own culture, would have been cultivated over years, into a few short months.

We miss you guys and treasure our season together: Stephen, Janelle, Micah, Amarissa, and Ezekiel.
